Agricultural issues arise both at the on-farm and off-farm levels. On-farm issues include poor land-use, land degradation, environmental abuse and low productivity. Off-farm issues are related to post-harvest losses, storage, food processing, distribution and marketing. Others are food availability, prices, quality and food security. There are also issues of inadequate funding and credit as well as political instability

To work for the upliftment and development of downtrodden (irrespective of caste and creed), vulnerable tribals, minorities, below poverty line people through providing basic education, medical aids, creating health awareness, family planning, development of agriculture, procurement of forest products, marine products, minerals, and other products developed in backward and underprivileged areas of the country and abroad as permissible under the various programs, schemes and commissions of the central government, state government, local authorities, minority commission, and other statutory bodies as may be necessary.
